09/03/2011: With much anticipation leading to the weekend, we were up bright and early on Saturday morning to pick up Ms. Nicky (My BBF) and Jade from the Megabus. The boys adore Jade and I adore her beautiful mother! It's a win | win combination. Nicky and I have became fast friends and battle buddies in Army Basic Training a decade ago. As life would have it, we've both been married, bore children and accomplished many things over time, keeping in touch (sometimes heavy sometimes light) along the way. This year, we've bonded TIGHTLY together in love and support as we both tackle family transition and change. We are STOKED to finally be in driving distance of one another. This was her first time visiting me @ my home.
So, the boys and I hurried along, picked up our girls, and we brought them home for breakfast.
Now that everyone has been fueled. The agenda for the day is the Henry Doorly Zoo. Party of 5 in a two-door coupe... a cozy, but happy fit! Oh, and in case you didn't notice the striking resemblance and even matching moles - yea, we're all one big melting pot of CUTENESS.
The kids saw birds, lizards, fish, rabbits, and all kinds of 4 legged beasts. We even scored a nice wagon, which was quite the arm work out!
We ventured to the bottom swamps of the dome to find ourselves in the dark surroundings of a ton of crocs.
The boys LOVE to see the sharks.
The kids also got inside the penguin observation bubble to have a closer look at those speedy divers. There was so much to see and do, we were tired out after a few hours. The kids made time to stop for more photo ops on the way out.
...and then happily skipped to the car hand in hand!
